6. Floors Castle is the family home of the 10th Duke of Roxburghe. Well worth visiting the castle and gardens. It also has a beautiful garden terrace for coffee or lunch. www.floorscastle.com

7. Many other stately homes are well worth visiting in the Scottish Borders and Kelso is a great base for day trips.

8. www.teviotgamefaresmokery.co.uk is only a few miles outside of Kelso on the road to Jedburgh. It is a family run smokery specialising in the most delicious produce. Well worth popping in. It also has a lovely riverside walk.
9.The Scottish Borders Donkey Sancturary www.donkeyheaven.org is a lovely day out for the children. Please contact them directly before you visit.
